During a press conference for the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce opened up about his relationship with singer Taylor Swift and how they handle the scrutiny from the public. Since Swift attended a Chiefs game last year, the couple has been in the spotlight, especially at NFL matches where Swift is often seen cheering for Kelce from the VIP box.
Kelce mentioned that their happiness is their priority and they try not to pay attention to outside noise. He expressed his enjoyment in the situation but emphasized the importance of keeping his focus on football. "I brought this upon myself, and I do enjoy having fun with it all, and the biggest thing is making sure my focus is right here in this building," Kelce said.
Contrary to popular belief, the couple has been dating since July, even though Swift's attendance at Arrowhead Stadium last fall sparked rumors. Kelce revealed that he had attended one of Swift's concerts in Kansas City that summer and tried to reach out to her. Although they couldn't connect before the show, they eventually got in touch and tested the waters of their relationship privately before going public.
In an interview with TIME magazine in December, Swift discussed the idea of a public relationship. She said, "When you say a relationship is public, that means I'm going to see him do what he loves, we're showing up for each other, other people are there and we don't care. The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you're seeing someone. And we're just proud of each other."
Since then, Kelce has been supporting Swift by attending her shows in Argentina and Brazil, while she has been present at his games as the Super Bowl approaches.
