When Jamie Chadwick began her career in race-car driving, there were very few women involved in the sport. However, with the growing popularity of motor sports, women have started to make their mark. One significant milestone was the introduction of the W Series, an all-female race, in 2019. Among the fastest-rising stars in this series is 25-year-old Jamie Chadwick, who emerged as the champion for three consecutive years.
After her victory in 2021, Chadwick found herself standing on the victory podium in Budapest, with the prominent Rolex crown logo in the background. She expressed her excitement about being associated with Rolex, stating that it was a dream come true. Soon after, she was chosen as one of the brand's "testimonees," making her the first female motorsport athlete to receive this recognition. Other testimonees include prominent figures such as tennis player Coco Gauff and conductor Gustavo Dudamel. The role of a testimonee is to endorse the performance of Rolex timepieces, a tradition that began with Mercedes Gleitze's swim across the English Channel in 1927, demonstrating the water resistance of Rolex watches.
Chadwick's passion for racing started at a young age when she discovered her love for adrenaline-fueled sports on the Isle of Man. She began kart racing at 11 and quickly realized that it was her true calling. By the age of 14, she was already racing cars. Today, she is one of the most prominent figures in the field, witnessing a new era for women in motor racing, thanks in part to the W Series. Chadwick describes the event as a game-changer that has diversified professional women's motor sports and is reshaping the representation of women in sports as a whole.
Recently, Chadwick participated in the 2023 Indy NXT season, and she is also a member of the Williams Driver Academy, which aims to develop emerging talent in motorsports and potentially integrate them into the Williams Racing Formula 1 team. Becoming a Formula 1 driver remains Chadwick's ultimate dream.
Outside of her racing career, Chadwick is an admirer of the Rolex Yacht-Master 37 in Everose gold, featuring a black Oysterflex strap. She appreciates the sporty style of the timepiece, enabling her to wear it daily. According to Chadwick, the watch represents an important moment in her life, serving as a reminder of her accomplishments.
