A theft occurred in the waiting area of Simferopol's railway station, where a bag containing a laptop was stolen from a resident of Volgograd. The incident was reported by the press service of the Crimean Transport Police Department.
Criminal investigation officers swiftly identified and detained the suspect within hours of the theft. The suspect, a 43-year-old man from the Dzhankoy district with a prior criminal record, confessed to the crime. He explained to the police that he noticed the unattended bag in the waiting area and took advantage of the owner's absence to steal it.
The victim suffered a material loss estimated at 34,000 rubles. A criminal case has been initiated under the article "Theft," with the suspect facing a potential sentence of up to five years in prison. As a precautionary measure, the man has been placed under a written pledge not to leave the area.
