Asda has revealed that British actress Maisie Smith will be the face of its upcoming G21 collection. The collection, set to launch on 23 January, will be available in stores nationwide. Smith joins other celebrities such as Sophie Piper from Love Island and TikTok stars The Lewis Sisters in partnering with Asda for the G21 range.
Smith collaborated with the G21 design team to curate a 35-piece capsule collection. The collection will include streetwear-inspired items such as cropped bomber jackets, jersey pieces, and satin slips. The color palette will feature shades of grey and denim, with pops of vibrant red.
Having been a regular on British TV screens since the age of seven, Smith gained fame for her role as Tiffany Butcher in 'Eastenders'. She also showcased her impressive dancing skills as a contestant on 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2020, reaching the final.
Delia Phillips, Senior Director of Buying and Design at George, expressed that the G21 range was designed based on customer feedback. Style, affordability, and wearability were identified as key factors in fashion choices. Phillips emphasized that the G21 collection perfectly embodies these qualities and praised Maisie Smith for her style, stating that she encompasses everything the label stands for.
Smith shared her favorite pieces from the collection, including a red satin skirt paired with a cozy grey jumper for a casual look. She also highlighted the strong denim selection, mentioning a bold yet casual fitted denim two-piece and baggy grungy jeans that evoke Y2K vibes.
In addition to the streetwear-inspired pieces, the G21 collection features feminine pinafore dresses and floral maxis. These can be styled under puffer jackets and paired with trainers for an athleisure twist.
The G21 collection offers affordable retail prices, ranging from £12 for a t-shirt to £40 for a cropped puffer jacket. The size range is inclusive, with options available from size 6 to 22.
