Rostov Metropolitan Mercury has given permission for women to attend church wearing men's clothing. He requested that women refrain from wearing nose scarves on their heads as well as replacing the required head coverings with dirty nose scarves. He made these statements during a television interview. The bishop reminded everyone that loud talking and making noise is not allowed in the church, and it is proper to turn off mobile phones during worship. He also pointed out that traditionally, women should not come to church with their hair down or their heads uncovered.
Metropolitan Mercury highlighted that guests invited to meet the president would not wear shorts or flip-flops. However, he stressed that appearance is not the foundation of faith but rather a gesture of respect. "You need to understand where you are going. But it's better for a woman to come to church in pants than not come at all," he said, clarifying that women should not put dirty nose scarves on their heads as it is ridiculous.
