Befree brand has unveiled a new collection of clothing that pays homage to Izhevsk, a city in Russia. The collection features prints that won a competition held by the brand, which aimed to showcase the uniqueness of Russian cities and regions. The designs incorporate famous symbols of Udmurtia, such as the Italmas flower, moose, octagonal star, and the words "Izhkar put' v dalekiy kray" (Izhkar, the way to a distant land).
"My heart belongs to Izhevsk, but I love to call it Izhkar. This is where I was born, where I create. In my work, I wanted to convey the uniqueness of my region. To make the design current, bold yet recognizable. To incorporate traditional elements and allow people to see how the contemporary cultural code of my city can be interpreted with a focus on ethnicity," wrote the design author using the pseudonym SkersJ.
T-shirts featuring this print will be available in flagship stores across the country.
