Omichka was awarded the Grand Prix of the Regional Stage of the International Fashion Contest. The competition took place at the "Art of Omsk" museum during the Omsk Fashion Weekend. The event is part of the official list of activities under the Development Concept for the Creative Industries of the Omsk Region until 2030.
Seventeen young designers from Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, and Omsk presented a total of eighty fashion looks. The jury, led by renowned fashion analyst Andrey Abolenkin from Moscow, praised the modern collections for their creative innovations and original details.
Anastasia Zernova's project, "token 7," was awarded the top prize - a trip to Moscow for the final stage of the International Design Contest "Russian Silhouette." The decision to award the Grand Prix to Zernova, a graduate of the Omsk School of Design, was almost unanimous among the jury members from Moscow, China, and Omsk.
Vera Goncharova, an Omichka resident, secured the first place with her collection "Manifesto of Femininity." Her classmate Irina Vdovina won the silver for her collection "Destruction," while a young couturier from Novosibirsk, Mikhail Novikov, received the bronze for his collection "Before. Between. After."
Mikhail, a 21-year-old designer, explained that the mood of his collection was one of concern for the future, hence the presence of crumpled, torn textures, metals, and other imaginative elements.
The winners and finalists of the competition were awarded an educational certificate from the Fashion Factory School, an invitation to collaborate with the prestigious St. Petersburg Fashion Week, monetary prizes, and certificates from partners.
The fashion show showcased the best student works from the Omsk School of Design. Once again, the graduates managed to impress the sophisticated audience with their creativity and originality.
Galinа Tolmacheva, the head of the Costume Design Department, believes that every diploma work is unique and creative. She has been teaching for 42 years and has never seen any repetition in the projects.
According to experts, the models developed by the residents of Omsk do not gather dust in the closet but immediately find their way into the lives of modern youth.
Ekaterina Buryak, a graduate of Omsk State Technical University, shared her experience of participating in various competitions but found that the "treasure chest" was empty. All her works were taken immediately after the runway show.
The festival ended with a professional presentation of local and all-Russian fashion brands called "Born in Siberia." The event also featured an open educational course conducted by fashion experts Andrey Abolenkin, Ksenia Pukhova, and Anna Dolganova.
Liliana Sorokina from St. Petersburg won the Audience Choice Award for her collection "Melting."
