Russia may start selling clothes and shoes from North Korea

Russia considers importing clothing, bags, and footwear from North Korea as western brands withdraw.

Amid the departure of western brands from Russia, the country is considering selling clothing, bags, and footwear from North Korea, according to reports. East Asian specialist Kim En Una stated that the friendly republic has successfully established such production, despite existing stereotypes. Local tailors can make jeans according to any pattern, including modern ones, although they may require assistance as they currently only produce classic models.

Furthermore, this clothing combines low cost and high quality, which triggered the backlash from local brands in Sweden a few years ago when it started being imported. In addition to jeans, the production in North Korea also includes decent bags and shoes, with sneakers matching the quality of western models.

In North Korea, people have started wearing badges with the portrait of Kim Jong-un. Sergei Dankvert and Kim Soo Chhor, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Quality Control of Import-Export Products and Quarantine in North Korea, signed an agreement that allows for the republic to export their products to Russia. The agreement may include the export of vegetables and fruits as well.
