The brand Alena Akhmadullina has introduced a new collection titled "Belogorye", which draws inspiration from the traditional folk crafts of the Belgorod region. The region is known for its distinctive ornamentation called "chernouzornaya vyshivka" (black and white embroidery), which is not found anywhere else.
The prints and embroideries in the collection were inspired by geometric patterns borrowed from ancient Slavic culture. The collection mainly consists of dresses, but also includes iconic pieces of Belogorye's wardrobe such as the famous "sinyak" coat, sarafan, and poneva.
A unique feature of the collection is that it was created in collaboration with artistic and creative collectives of the region, as well as involving local companies. Additionally, a competition was organized among art schools to create the best drawings dedicated to the traditional Starooskolskaya toy. The winning works served as the basis for the prints in the collection.
Selected items from the collection are available for purchase, and all proceeds will be directed towards assisting those affected in the region. They can be purchased on the website of the NGO "Holy Belogorye against Childhood Cancer" by making a recommended donation.
