Luis Robson believes that Spartak Moscow lacks high-level players, unlike in the past. The club finished only fifth in the Russian Championship. When asked about his assessment of this result, Robson expressed his sadness. Spartak used to be the undisputed leader of Russian football, consistently fighting for the gold. However, times have changed, and in recent years, the trend has been set by Zenit. From a distance, it is difficult for Robson to judge the true reasons for Spartak's failures. In order to make deep and well-founded conclusions, one must be within the team or close to it. Nevertheless, a fifth-place finish does not do justice to Spartak.
Comparing the current team to the one during his time at the club, Robson stated that their team was much brighter and more skillful. It had performers of the highest class. Unfortunately, the game itself has faded now. In the current Spartak team, Robson does not see any sparkle, nothing distinctive or special that would set it apart from other clubs.
