After an incident at school No. 62 in Voronezh, where female students were allegedly forced to undress during the examination procedure, the Committee on Education of the State Duma will ask regional education ministers to prevent any misconduct during the Unified State Exam (EGE), according to Izvestia. The situation has caused a lot of noise and has attracted the attention of various authorities, including the prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Education, and Rosobrnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science).
According to some of the female students, they experienced immense stress and humiliation, as they were asked to remove their bras in order to take the exam. The school administration denied the girls' claims and stated that they couldn't handle their emotions. Some of the girls and their parents filed complaints with the prosecutor's office.
The State Duma committee on education will hold a selective meeting with the regions and will demand that the relevant ministers ensure that exams are conducted without any misconduct, according to Yana Lantaratova, the first deputy chairman of the committee. This decision was made following the scandalous incident at School No. 62 in Voronezh, where 11th grade students claimed they were forced to undress during the examination procedure.
An video circulated on the internet showing one of the female students lifting her shirt at the entrance, at the request of a security guard, to reveal her bra. This gesture was supposed to confirm that she did not have any metal objects on her person that she was trying to bring into the exam. According to the participants' accounts, there were several girls who had to go through this procedure. The school administrators deny the allegations made by the girls.
A school representative stated that the metal detector was faulty and went off for everyone, whether they had phones or not. The students who triggered the alarm were taken aside and asked to remove metal objects and phones. The girls were then asked to go outside and remove their bras since there were no cameras outside, and then they were allowed to go through the metal detector again without them. Some of the students claimed that their teachers witnessed the search but did not intervene in the situation.
The incident has caused significant stress for the students, and some parents have already filed complaints with the prosecutor's office. The State Duma speaker, Vyacheslav Volodin, has supported the idea of involving law enforcement agencies after the incident in Voronezh, according to Nina Ostannina, the head of the State Duma committee on family, parenting, maternity, and childhood.
Educational Minister Sergey Kravtsov stated that the Voronezh schoolgirls were not forced to undress before the exam, according to some Telegram channels. The prosecutor's office and Rosobrnadzor have yet to comment on the situation.
The incident at the school in Voronezh has been deemed unacceptable by child psychologist Natalya Naumova. The students were subjected to humiliation and psychological pressure, making it even more difficult for them to take the exam. The actions of the security guards may be considered as committing crimes against sexual integrity and freedom.
The school and the security guards could face disciplinary action, and the incident may be investigated by law enforcement agencies for possible criminal charges, according to lawyer Ilya Drozdov. The search procedure should not be conducted in the way it was in Voronezh, and female security guards should be involved in searching female students.
The situation in Voronezh has attracted the attention of various authorities, including the Ministry of Education, Rosobrnadzor, and the prosecutor's office. Investigations will be carried out, and the school will be held accountable for any possible violations of the law.
