Jennifer Lawrence conducted an extensive interview with Kylie Jenner for Interview magazine, delving into various topics. However, the most intriguing question came towards the end when Lawrence asked Jenner about her reconciliation with close friend Jordyn Woods. This came after Woods' estrangement from Jenner due to the infamous Tristan Thompson kissing scandal in 2019.
For a quick recap, Thompson reportedly cheated on Khloé Kardashian, Jenner's sister, by kissing Woods at a party that year. Jenner subsequently unfollowed Woods on Instagram, leading many to believe that their friendship was over. However, Woods expressed her hope in the September issue of Cosmopolitan UK that they would mend their relationship someday, stating that she still loved Jenner and hoped they could come back together.
Fast forward to July 2023, and photographs emerged of Woods and Jenner enjoying sushi together. Lawrence broached the subject of Woods delicately, prefacing her question by acknowledging the past trauma and the curiosity surrounding their renewed friendship. She asked Jenner how it happened and what the situation was like now.
Jenner explained that she and Woods had always remained in touch throughout the years, meeting up at Jenner's house to catch up and talk things through. They never completely cut each other off. Eventually, they reached a point where they felt comfortable being seen together and no longer wanted to hide. Jenner believed that there was a lesson to be learned from their experiences, and in a strange way, everything happened as it was meant to. She acknowledged that they had been inseparable and needed space to grow as individuals. Jenner also mentioned that she needed the independence and confidence that came with distancing herself from Woods, who had been her security blanket for so long.
Lawrence expressed her understanding and happiness that Jenner had found a healthier way to maintain their connection. She emphasized the importance of lifetime friends, even acknowledging Woods' mistake due to her young age.
Jenner agreed, affirming the significance of those friendships that stand the test of time.
