It just so happened that Yuri Sivachev became the first artist to be mobilized to the Special Forces zone. Shortly before the start of the operation, he relocated from Moscow to Rostov-on-Don and became a teacher at the Grekov Art School. It was there that he received his military summons in the autumn of 2022. He says he had no intention of hiding and was already standing outside the military enlistment office in the morning. And so began his journey at the training ground, with his first combat assignments...
But fate had more vibrant colors in store for Junior Sergeant Sivachev, as he was enrolled in the newly formed First Front Creative Brigade where an artist was needed. Since then, he has been creating images of the special operation's heroes. We had the opportunity to speak with the master about the place and role of an artist within the overall structure.
